Title - 'Actor, Songster and Sage'
Artist - Brian Baugus

Brian Baugus is one very eclectic artist! Not just a song writer, but also an actor, poet, he's also been a sideman, frontman, straight man, and doorman!!

Actor, Songster and Sage is Baugus' latest venture into music and although a welcome one - given all the loud, annoyingly screamed vocals that seem to "top the charts these days" - Actor, Songster and Sage does have many been-there done-that musical moments before the end.

He covers quite a wide range of topics, and as much as his vocals are hardle anything to shout about, the personal, heartfelt lyrics are true poetry gold. Indeed, his new CD has ten (10) original songs, including the five (5) songs from his EP, remastered.

Somewhat, shall we say, a little left-of-center at times, Baugus' lyrics seem to bring forth memories of his time spent playing the coffee house scene back in the late 60's, early 70's. I mean, I know he's been in bands and combos himself throughout the years, but here, alone he just feels more comfortable. Which is why he probably gave out this quote: "In acting, rehearsal is hard and performance is easy. In music it's vice versa."

Actor, Songster, Sage, of which Baugus has also said, "I've been waiting in the wings for quite a while, now I am ready to wow you with some Beans Creek Boogie!” was engineered and produced by Rod Martin at his Queen Anne's Revenge Studio for Rod's Barking Moondog Records label. In truth it is truly also for hardcore folk music fans, that's for sure. Oh, and truly devoted Brian Baugus fans too, of course!
