Title - 'Lady In The Water' (Decca)
Artist - James Newton Howard

This would have to be one of my favorite scores from Mr. James Newton Howard, my other favorite being the Oscar-nominated score to 'The Village.' Simular to 'The Village,' this soundtrack consists of beautiful strings and harmonic layers. This is Mr. Howard's fifth collaboration with director M. Night Shyamalan and would have to be one of his best film scores, in my opinion. As with most all supernatural tones that accompany movie scores, a fair few flirt with the expected genre, but a sure sense of melody is also freely at play here also. Easy to relax to, this soundtrack speaks for its self. The strings are pure divine as James puts an organised film score together with piano and a wonderful vocalist. In addition to those wonderful tracks, rounding out the project are four Bob Dylan covers, including a gothic take on "The Times They Are A-Changin'" by A Whisper in the Noise, and Silvertide's rocking "It Ain't Me Babe" and "Maggie's Farm." I just wish the italian song that was in the teaser trailer was on the soundtrack. This is Highly recommended!
