Title - 'Truth: Remaster' (Legacy)
Artist - Jeff Beck

This is the album that started the term "Supergroup". I have owned the original vinyl of this recording since it came out in about 1968. Used to tell people about this amazing band which was Rod Stewart's debut, singing in a group which included amongst others, Jeff Beck on guitar, Mickey Waller on drums and Nicky Hopkins on Piano. Even John Paul Jones of Led Zep fame plays Hammond organ on one of the tracks. Rod Stewart was a powerhouse and the group were tight and rocked. I think that the only reason that they did not suceed commercially was that Mr Beck has always been one for doing his own thing. At the time this album was released, they were offered recording contracts with Mickey Most but Jeff turned it down to pursue his career in rock. Rod Stewart as we all know, continued to create a career that has spanned almost the last 40 years. This album was released on cd many years ago and I am happy to say that the new remastered cd has been engineered to really show the superb prowess of all the musicians who played in this band. A masterpiece! Take a listen and you will understand and hear the influences on all the "Supergroups" that followed. If one didn't know better, you could swear that John Bonham is playing drums. An essential part of any serious rock afficianado!
