Title - 'House on Fire: Demos & Rarities'
Artist - Jeff Healey Band
As you all know, Jeff Healey was a blind Canadian blues-rock vocalist/guitarist who attained musical and personal popularity, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s. Sadly, he passed away March 2nd, 2008, but still to this day a lot of his music comes forth.
House on Fire: Demos & Rarities is a collection of previously-unreleased songs from The Jeff Healey Band. Admittedly though, most of the tracks come from 1992-1995, when they were recording Feel This and Cover To Cover.
The album kicks of with the rousing title track 'House On Fire,' before heading into the slower Blues of 'Who's Been Sleepin' In My Bed?' 'You Go Your Way (I'll Go Mine)' is followed by 'All The Way,' and then a stunning piano-fused cover of 'We've Got Tonight.'
His vocals are powerful, so distinctive, and his guitar playing inspired and, as usual, so very passionate. Which, in truth, was always Healey's calling card. The second half of the album continues on with the roadhouse jam of 'Bish Bang Boof,' with 'Too Late Now' backed by the storytelling of 'Face Up.' This wonderful "new" album then comes to a close with 'Adam Raised A Cain,' the guitar powerhaus work of 'Daze Of The Night' and finally 'Joined At The Heart.'
