Title - 'Homecoming' (SACD 5.1 Multichannel)
Artist - America

Let's be honest here, many bands suffer from a sophomore slump especially after a great debut, but thankfully we don't get that here with Homecoming. The excellent follow-up to the self-titled America debut, this album contains my all time favorite tracks of theirs. Indeed, lead off track 'Ventura Highway' and I have fond memories all those years ago, learning how to play acoustic guitar by playing along with this tune and all the rest of the great History compilation album.

Homecoming, though shows great maturity and a band developing very quickly with their unique style of great harmonies and easy listening tracks. And the lyrics, oh man, those lyrics are still a highly enjoyable listening experience. Fans are in for a treat with this Hybrid Multichannel SACD (see below for tech specs), because it is not only the full 10-track album, but remastered in a way your ears have NEVER heard it EVER before!

There are no filler tracks here as every track is very strong and has a nice flow throughout the album. Importantly, and not to harp on it, but that newly-created, original 2-Channel Stereo Mix sound quality is like waiting for a fine wine to mature!

Super Audio CD (SACD) is a read-only optical disc for audio storage, introduced in 1999. It was developed jointly by Sony and Philips Electronics, and intended to be the successor to their Compact disc format. Indeed, this SACD format can offer more channels (ie: surround sound), and a longer playing time than regular CDs.
