Title - 'Still A Warrior' [Pure Steel]
Artist - Dave Shankle Group

For those not in the know, The David Shankle Group is a heavy metal band formed by former Manowar lead guitarist David Shankle. Their debut album, Ashes to Ashes, was released in June of 2003, their follow up, Hellborn in 2007, and now some eight years later, the third album, Still A Warrior has been unleashed.

Featuring alongside Shankle (Guitars) are Warren Halvarson - Vocals; Mike Streicher - Bass; and Gabriel Anthony - Drums, each one contributing something very special to the recording of this brand new album. Born out of Chicago, Illinois, The Dave Shankle Group's brand of Heavy metal / Speed metal / Power metal has made friends and fans around the world ever since 2002.

Still A Warrior, released via Pure Steel, is an album worth the wait, trust me. Some eight years of waiting may well have had their more addictive personality fans scratching their heads in yearly anticipation, but now it is finally here, they must assuredly be very, VERY happy with the end result.

Chock full of powerful and modern riffs galore, for this third album The David Shankle Group actually bring is a combination of the aforementioned Power metal and some highly sophisticated musical arrangements. Bending and curving gracefully into the neoclassical light of their very influences, Still A Warrior proves they are indeed still just that - musical warriors of the highest order.

Indeed, Shankle himself has said that "with new singer Warren Halvarson, new bass player Mike Streicher, and our new drummer Gabriel Anthony, this is by far the BEST lineup to date." Personally, I have to agree, but that should not deter new fans to the group from checking out the DSG's previous two albums. For they are equally as high powered, as frenetic as this one, believe me.
