Title - ‘1 Greatest Hits (Deluxe Version)'
Artist - Julio Iglesias

As you all pretty much know at this juncture, Julio Iglesias (actually born Julio José Iglesias de la Cueva!) is a Spanish singer and songwriter who has sold over 300 million records worldwide in 14 languages! And released 80 albums, and more than 2,600 gold and platinum records certified. Indeed, and according to Sony Music Entertainment, he is the best-selling Latin music artist in history.

So, for us to say that Julio Iglesias has done it again here on this latest collection of his #1 singles and more, well, that would be an understatement of the highest level! His new album is entitled 1 and reflects all his many, oh so many en masse of #1 singles and hits around the world.

My wife has been listening to Julio Iglesias's music ever since she was 10 years old, she has informed me, as I write this review! But I should have known of her devotion as she has emassed something like 50 of his CDs (in Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, English, and even German) since then. Iglesias is, simply put, one of the best singers to have ever graced our ears!

As for this album, well, it is two (2) music CDs and one (1) live music DVD, if that makes sense. Indeed, this is his first-ever #1 hits collection put together, which I find amazing. And so from the artis that paved the way for the the global explosion of Latin music within the US, and perhaps even the world therein, we start with 'Begin The Beguine,' and move on through other such classics as 'Crazy,' 'When I Need You,' 'Vincent (Starry Starry Night),' 'Always On My Mind,' 'Crazy In Love,' and even 'Fragile' sung with Sting.

Julio always had great songs and a great melodious voice. Most all his songs have had a great catchy and popular style melody, embodied with the human spirt of feeling. And so we progress onwards on the second disc with such hits as 'Por El Amor De Una Mujer,' 'Me Va, Me Va,' 'Un Canto A Galicia,' 'Corazon Partio,' and even 'De Nina A Mujer,' 'La Carretera' and of course 'Amor, Amor, Amor.'

And, as mentioned, also included is 'Starry Night: Live From the Greek Theatre,' the DVD chronicle of Julio's historic concert at the legendary Los Angeles venue in 1990. The track listing for that show is:

1. Volver A Empezar (Begin the Beguine)
2. Amor, Amor, Amor
3. To All The Girls I ve Loved Before
4. Too Many Women
5. La Paloma
6. Brazilian Medley: The Girl From Ipanema/Desafinado
7. If You Go Away (Ne Me Quitte Pas)
8. 99 Miles From L.A.
9. When I Need You
10. Bamboleo
11. Moonlight Lady
12. Pensami (Jurame)
13. Hey!
14. Mona Lisa
15. Ae, Ao
16. Can't Help Falling In Love

This is a great addition to your Julio Iglesias music collection, trust me. And rather like wine, his voice just gets better with age.
