Title - 'Dark Side Of The Sun'
Artist - Luna 13
For those not in the know, DeathTronica band Luna 13 hail from the slums of Hollywood, CA (their words, not mine!) and features Dr. Luna at the musical helm. Having emerged in 2012 it's their forceful, yet groove-based electro-metal - one that incorporates elements of electronica, death metal, and industrial rock – that has caught the industry's attention.
Luna 13 are already an award-winning, signed to Cleopatra Records, and who have just released their new album The Dark Side Of the Sun on, of course, 6-6-16! The album's lead radio single, ‘Skin’ is a tear-your-face-off, blistering assault on your senses, and one that still remains dancefloor friendly (to a point). Other stand out songs amongst the eight captured here on this album are cuts such as the highly inventive, and soaringly sonic title track, the floor squirming slither of 'Venomous Love', and the longest track, the seemingly Halloween (movie)-inspired 'Swarm'.
All done with no string instruments, band member and music-maker Dr. Luna creates a metal sound with synthesizers and distortion pedals by wrapping heavy distortion around sub-bass. The music is super tight, the synth bass work monumentally ferocious. Luna 13 are just what the DeathTronica ordered, trust me, and once you yourself have listened to The Dark Side Of the Sun you'll be begging for their live show to come to your town sometime soon - of that have no fear!
