Title - 'Star Trek Beyond - Music From The Motion Picture'
Artist - Michael Giacchino

One of the most beloved film franchises returns! Following the tremendous success of his work on last year's 'Jurassic Park' reboot, composer Michael Giacchino returns to complete the latest installment of 'Star Trek'.

'Star Trek Beyond' is the thirteenth film in the 'Star Trek' film franchise and the third installment in the reboot series, following 'Star Trek' (2009) and 'Star Trek Into Darkness' (2013). Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto reprise their roles as Captain James T. Kirk and Commander Spock, with Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin reprising their roles from the previous films. Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella also join the cast.

The first leg of the USS Enterprise's five year mission takes them into uncharted territory. There the Enterprise is nearly destroyed and strands Kirk and his crew on a remote planet with no means of communication. Kirk must then work with the elements to reunite his crew and get back to Earth.

As for this incredible, simply at-times breathtaking soundtrack score, well, Michael Giacchino - who it should be known also helmed the music duties for 2013's 'Star Trek Into Darkness' and 2009's 'Star Trek' soundtracks; both international best sellers, of course - is back once more to bring us 18 tracks that will fairly light up your ear buds quite like nothing you've listened to since ... since ... well, 'Into Darkness', I guess!

For lovers of all Giacchino's work, you will already know there is, within his community of fans, a gem of a piece always to be found within each soundtrack he composes. Especially within his 'Star Trek' scores. "Labor of Love" (2009) and "Subprime Directive" (2013) have been noted as the stand outs for those two movies, and here on 'Beyond' it's the growing-on-me-with-each-listen "Night on Yorktown".

With his score for 'Star Trek Beyond', yet again Michael Giacchino proves himself a master composer by effortlessly blending iconic themes from the television series with rousing new compositions that grab hold of the listener and boldly sends them on a trek beyond (sorry!) the stars. Not since John Williams has a composer so deftly made his music a seamless and invaluable part of a film's success. Enjoy. For I know you will.
