Title - 'Royal Soldier'
Artist - Jah Cure
For those not in the know, Jah Cure (born Siccature Alcock) is a Jamaican reggae musician, who was raised in Kingston. In fact, he was given the name Jah Cure by Capleton whom he met while growing up in Kingston.
Jah Cure is also known as the King of Lovers Rock and Roots Reggae and his presence and influence among Caribbean fans has reverberated around the globe, earning him top status among reggae artists internationally.
Furthermore, Jah Cure is a musical adventurer, exploring rhythms, moods and meaning with his latest album Royal Soldier, his first since The Cure in 2015.
Featuring guest appearances from Melanie Fiona, Mya, Phyllisia Ross, Popcaan, Damien ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley, Tory Lanez, and others, Royal Soldier (out August 30th, 2019 via VP Records) is, once again, Jah Cure at the top of his game.

The album kicks off with the reverberated beauty 'On The Move' and backs that up with the slow roll of both 'Brighter Day' and 'Marijuana' (feat. Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley), the deep growl of 'Telephone Line,' and then both the almost hypnotic 'Magic' (feat. Tory Lanez) and the mid-tempo hipsway of 'Risk It All' (feat. Phyllisia Ross).
Jah Cure writes songs about love and consciousness and reality. His music moves between classic roots and smooth R&B and often challenges the boundaries of the reggae genre. All that and so much more is showcased perfectly here on the new album, especially as we run into both 'Pretty Face' and 'Work It Out' (feat. Melanie Fiona).
The sultry lo-fi of 'Eyes On Your Body' (feat. Dru, Sketch Carey & Alx) is backed by the first real pop bounce flow track, 'Only You' (feat. Mya) which is followed by Lover's Rock of 'Don't Walk Away.'
The mid tempo Roots Reggae smooth R&B bounce of the title track 'Royal Soldier' is then backed by the storytelling of 'Life Is Real' (feat. Popcaan & Padrino), with the magnificent album rounding out with the Wailersesque 'Street Kings' (feat. Yami Bolo, Junior Reid & Capleton).
