Title - 'Mad Lad: A Live Tribute to Chuck Berry'
Artist - Ronnie Wood with His Wild Five

Artist, author, producer and raconteur (and Stones guitarist) Ronnie Wood returns to his greatest love, music, with the release of his new album from Ronnie Wood with His Wild Five, Mad Lad: A Live Tribute to Chuck Berry.

Released by BMG on November 15th, 2019, the 11-track album was recorded live at Wimborne’s Tivoli Theatre last year and is a loving nod to one of Ronnie’s musical heroes, Chuck Berry.

This quite wondrous album features guest appearances from singer Imelda May and pianist Ben Waters and includes tracks such as 'Tribute to Chuck Berry' written by Wood and 'Worried Life Blues' written by Maceo Merriweather.

1. 'Tribute to Chuck Berry'
2. 'Talking About You'
3. 'Mad Lad'
4. 'Wee Wee Hours' (Feat. Imelda May)
5. 'Almost Grown' (Feat. Imelda May)
6. 'Back In The USA'
7. 'Blue Feeling'
8. 'Worried Life Blues'
9. 'Little Queenie'
10. 'Rock ‘N’ Roll Music' (Feat. Imelda May)
11. 'Johnny B Goode'

The project was recorded during a performance at The Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne, U.K. in 2018, and excitingly acts as just the first in a trilogy of tribute albums recorded by Wood to be released in the coming years.

Indeed, and according to the announcement, each album as part of the series will hear Wood pay tribute to a mix of his musical heroes.

The live performance here is, as you would fully expect, an amazing coming together of musicians and talent and instrumentation as each and every one of the 11 tracks is vibrant, is bold and joyous, and is alive!

Featuring the brilliant singer Imelda May on three of the tracks (the highlight for me being her restrained, yet pulsating rendition of 'Rock 'N' Roll Music'), along with the highly underrated pianist Ben Waters, the album kicks off with an original penned by Wood in the rockin' 'Tribute to Chuck Berry' and never lets up the pace thereafter!

Inclusive of Berry classics such as 'Little Queenie,' 'Back in the USA,' and, of course, 'Johnny B. Goode,' the aforementioned 'Worried Life Blues,' written by Maceo Merriweather, is for me, one of the divine highlights of this new collection.

The albums artwork is also hand-painted by Ronnie himself, and Mad Lad will be available digitally, on CD, on heavyweight vinyl, deluxe box set (CD, LP and 12x12 art card of the album artwork) and in a super deluxe limited-edition box set (including CD, LP, 12x12 art print, signed and numbered set list and T-Shirt).
