Title - 'Jericho'
Artist - Jeff Lofton

For those not in the know, Austin, Texas-based trumpeter/composer Jeff Lofton recently released his incredible, simply brilliant new album, Jericho, and it has already garnered some rather rave, favorable, and downright deservedly high praise reviews.

A Grammy member and two-time SXSW Austin Music Awards winner, Lofton offers a diverse style, impressing audiences and critics with his ability to easily swing from styles as eclectic as neo-soul, jazz, urban, and R&B.

1. 'You Blues You Lose'
2. 'Compared To What' (featuring Carolyn Wonderland)
3. 'Rose'
4. 'What A Little Moonlight Can Do'
5. 'Love Comes (Amor Viene)'
6. 'Jericho'
7. 'The Christmas Song'
8. 'Nola Beat'
9. 'Compared To What' (featuring Murali Coryell)

The album kicks off in some fine style with the upbeat and funky, swing jazz of 'You Blues You Lose,' and backs that up with both the high tempo cracker 'Compared To What' (featuring Carolyn Wonderland), and then the slow roll, mellow groove of the ballad 'Rose.'

It's very evident on this new album that Lofton is giving us a sample of his creativity and dynamic trumpet style throughout the nine studio recordings, for his musicianship is simply top notch.

The frenetic 'What A Little Moonlight Can Do' is up next and is followed by the late night jazz club appeal of 'Love Comes (Amor Viene),' the reverberatingly exquisite title track, and then the perfectly timed for this upcoming holiday season, his immaculate rendition of 'The Christmas Song.'

The finger-snappin' beauty 'Nola Beat' is up next with the album rounding out with another version of 'Compared To What,' this time featuring Murali Coryell and coming across as more of a softer James Brown styling.
