Title - 'Been Around'
Artist - A Girl Called Eddy
Erin Moran, better known by her stage name, A Girl Called Eddy, is an American soul pop singer/songwriter born in Neptune, New Jersey, USA and currently living in England.
Along with Stephen Harris and DJ Sae 1, she was a member of the trip hop act Leomoon who released an eponymous album in 1999.
Erin started singing background vocals and keyboard playing for Francis Dunnery, a singer-songwriter, providing back-up vocals on his album Man, and toured England. She also toured Europe supporting Josh Ritter.
In 2001, Erin released an EP titled, Tears All Over Town on Le Grand Magistery, an independent record label, and in 2004 she released her first, self-titled album in England, working with Richard Hawley.
After some time away, Erin came back in 2018 with her brilliant The Last Detail album (a super group, formed by FUGU and A Girl Called Eddy, released on Elefant Records), and come early 2020 (January 20th), A Girl Called Eddy will release a brand new sophomore solo album, Been Around (once again on Elefant Records).

Tracked mainly in Nashville, the list of guest appearances reads like a who's-who of the best of music city: The Watson Twins (Jenny Lewis), Victor Krauss, Jim Hoke and many others all make appearances.
Listening to this quite wondrous new album the first thing that comes to mind is just how big, how voluminous Been Around truly is.
Obviously brought together with love for the craft along with having been created with a verve of pure and unadulterated timelessness, free flowing within each and every one of the richly layered tracks, singer-songwriter Erin showcases not only her bitter-sweet songwriting abilities, but the lavishness of her vocals also.
In short, Erin Moran's voice (which features rich strains of Karen Carpenter, K.D. Lang, Shelby Lynne, et al) is seductive when she wants it to be, clear and precise when she needs it to be, and always a wee bit understated and, perhaps at times, shy.
In other words, tainted with jazz-influenced percussion throughout, Been Around is an album that will take the world by storm come early 2020!
