Title - 'Then & Now'
Artist - Rex Allen Jr.

Country Rewind Records has just released the brand new album from Rex Allen Jr, the 16-track Then & Now, which was made available on October 25th, 2019 (with distribution by Select-O-Hits).

Country Rewind Records has dedicated itself to bring classic country with this contemporary feel to not only the past country fans but also to the new country listeners by bringing unreleased traditional Country music into the contemporary Country era.

Rex Allen Jr. (born August 23, 1947) is an American country music singer, who started singing at the age of six; he had followed in the footsteps of his father, Rex Allen, a singing cowboy and the narrator of many Walt Disney films.

Allen followed his father’s footsteps as a film narrator when he lent his voice as narrator of the Jim Carrey movie, Me, Myself, and Irene.

1. 'Dream on Texas Ladies'
2. 'Running Down Memory Lane'
3. 'A Good Woman's Love'
4. 'When You Held Me in Your Arms'
5. 'My Angel'
6. 'Memory Train'
7. 'The Air That I Breathe'
8. 'I Never Made Love'
9. 'Sweet Rosanna'
10. 'Deep in the West'
11. 'Lonesome Town'
12. 'Peaceful Easy Feeling'
13. 'Crying in the Chapel'
14. 'Bullets in the Gun'
15. 'Where Are the Heroes'
16. 'Forever Young' [Bonus Track]

This beautiful, vibrant new album kicks off with the free flowing 'Dream on Texas Ladies' (and which is also his new single), which he backs up seamlessly with the sprightly 'Running Down Memory Lane' (with Eddie Raven), the rousing 'A Good Woman's Love,' and then both the twinkling storytelling of 'When You Held Me in Your Arms' and then the longing found within 'My Angel.'

The mid-tempo 'Memory Train' is one of the stand out cuts here for me, and is backed by a cover of The Hollies' 'The Air That I Breathe,' which in turn is followed by a gently euphoric 'I Never Made Love' and then a lush 'Sweet Rosanna.'

The yearning ballad 'Deep in the West' is next and is followed by the Country reminiscing of 'Lonesome Town.' A cover of the Eagles' 'Peaceful Easy Feeling' is a pure, unadulterated joy to behold, and that's backed by a cover of Elvis Presley's 'Crying in the Chapel.'

This gem of an album then rounds out with the upbeat 'Bullets in the Gun,' coming to a close with the troubadour vibe of 'Where Are the Heroes,' and then a quite triumphant Bob Dylan cover, 'Forever Young' (with Juni Fisher)

"The new CD contains my last Master Recording done in Nashville during the mid-eighties as well as more recent songs from the 2000’s," Rex explains. "I am very excited about this CD."
