Title - 'Look Out Where You're Going'
Artist - Nicole Mercedes

For those not in the know, based out of Brooklyn, Nicole Mercedes is a dream pop multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter who creates a sound that is perfectly pop and haunting all at once.

Collaborating with producer Joe Rogers (Laura Stevenson, Rubblebucket, etc.), and mostly recording in her bedroom, Mercedes has achieved that elusive coexistence of brain-staining tunefulness and hauntingly evocative aura – the stuff of long afternoons gazing through rainy panes, or the throbbing craving for even temporary escape.

On her new album Look Out Where You're Going (releasing June 19th, 2020), the engrossingly artful, dedicatedly ambiance of Nicole's expansive chamber pop gives the listener eight ways to fall in love with her sound (trust me, you'll be head of heels in under three!).

1. 'Last Hike'
2. 'Filters'
3. 'Stoop'
4. 'Motel'
5. 'Watering'
6. 'Thumbelina'
7. 'At Ease'
8. 'Mediterranean'

Not one for long song titles, the album kicks off with the esoteric ambiance of 'Last Hike,' and backs that up with the building, echoing and fuzzy electronic bed of drum-led orchestrations that make up 'Filters,' before the first single 'Stoop,' a lush, floating work of musical art weaves its way forward on a bed of luxuriant synths and ghostly guitars.

Next up is the gentle yearning of 'Motel,' which is seamlessly backed by the magnificently atmospheric 'Watering,' and then the lo-fi indie vibe of 'Thumbelina' is brought forth.

This quite amazingly ambient, always gorgeous, and at times even transcendent album then rounds out with the foot-tappin' resonance of 'At Ease, before coming to a close on the raw, acoustic guitar work and vocal sonority of 'Mediterranean.'
