Title - 'All-Time Classic American Love Songs’ (RCA)
Artist - American Idol: Season 2
Being a big fan of the second American Idol show, I was slightly disappointed when I eventually got this CD from my Editor to review. It's true that something significant is lost when the live renditions are converted to album. Still, I think the talent of the performers shows through in many ways. My favorites on the album include the smooth "What The World Needs Now," performed by the majority of the American Idol finalists; "Let's Stay Together," a unique version of Al Green's most enjoyable ballad sung by Trenyce; and surprisingly, Etta James’ "At Last," sweetly sung by Julia Demato. But, it seems that her controversial act of posing nude for PETA is probably the REAL reason Vanessa was not included on this album … which is a damn shame, to be honest!
