Title - 'Here We Come A-Caroling'
Artist - Blackmore's Night

For those not in the know, Blackmore’s Night, the project involving iconic and influential guitarist Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple, Rainbow) and his wife, singer/multi-instrumentalist Candice Night, released a beautiful new holiday EP in early December.

Here We Come A-Caroling features four classic Christmas songs from the pair, and even comes out on a color 10" vinyl!

1. "Here We Come A-Caroling"
2. "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear"
3. "O Little Town Of Bethlehem"
4. "Silent Night"

Opening with the beautiful acoustic guitar work of 'Here We Come A-Caroling,' the track sets the Christmas tone immediately, Night's vocals, as always, able to help set that tone. The most upbeat of the four tracks, that's backed by 'It Came Upon A Midnight Clear,' which is done as a traditional melody and brings forth some rather delightful flute work also.

Then we get 'O Little Town of Bethlehem' which isn't as you would expect, but moreover is done in their collective Celtic folk styling, complete with an alternative melody. The EP rounds out with their rendition of 'Silent Night,' done, for the most part, traditionally, but now enhanced by acoustic guitar and gentle strings and bass work.

This special holiday EP is the first release from Blackmore’s Night since 2015’s All Our Yesterdays, the band’s tenth studio album, but fear not as there’s another new record, Nature’s Light, expected out in spring of 2021 (followed by a reissue of the band's entire catalog later in the year).
