Title - The Grumpytime Club
Artist - Carrie Ferguson

For those unaware, The Grumpytime Club (out June 11th, 2021), a new album from award-winning singer-songwriter Carrie Ferguson, offers children and families welcoming and inclusive messages about accepting feelings, celebrating differences, and loving themselves exactly as they are.

As a queer and gender nonconforming artist, I have learned that inner strength derives from knowing, accepting, and loving yourself. I know how important it is to use that strength to celebrate and show up for other people and the world in general, says Ferguson. I hope this album will give young people and all listeners a boost of love and confidence on their own journeys.

The songs on The Grumpytime Club focus on the different building blocks of confidence, from accepting grumpy feelings without judgment to working through obstacles with persistence and enthusiasm.

The albums catchy melodies and sing-along choruses, enhanced by plenty of vocal harmonies and brass, showcase Carrie Fergusons versatility in traversing musical styles as eclectic as rollicking ska, bluegrassy folk, thoughtful adventure ballads, and tender lullabies.

Indeed, The Grumpytime Club inspires silly dancing one minute and contemplative stillness the next!

1. Cat and Piggy
2. The Puppy Song (You and I)

Opening on the melodically upbeat, bluegrass appeal of Cat and Piggy, and the gently frenetic, yet highly whimsical The Puppy Song (You and I), they are followed with the SKA-imbibed Mishy Mashy Mushy Mooshy Moo, the Halloween-esque, piano-led title track The Grumpytime Club, and then the quieter offering of the emotional center of the album, Tavis Song, and the mid-tempo, foot-tapper The Best Way to Be are brought forth.

Next up is the sweepingly magnificent, enthusiasm for life rocker Do It Again which is in turn backed by the joyous, NOLA-style jazz sing-along Up and Down, and then the album rounds out on three delicate piano works: the first being Lend Me Your Glasses, then comes the ornate beauty of Azas Song, the album closing on the third, and final one, the calming Summer hipsway of Hope Parade.

The Grumpytime Club will be released during Pride Month, on June 11th, 2021.
