Title - Tall Dark Stranger: Remastered
Artist - Buck Owens And His Buckaroos

For those unaware, throughout Omnivore Recordings 12-year relationship with the Buck Owens Private Foundation, one request from the fans was clear and consistent—to make Bucks late-’60s/early-’70s releases available again as stand-alone reissues.

Omnivore is proud to answer that call and announce 9 titles to be released throughout the summer and fall of 2021.

Starting August 6th, Omnivore will put out these 9 albums, offered as standalone reissues. Each drop will consist of three albums: Sweet Rosie Jones, I’ve Got You on My Mind Again and Tall Dark Stranger, then on August 27th, they will release Your Mother’s Prayer, The Kansas City Song and I Wouldn’t Live in New York City, and then finally come October 1st, they will put out In the Palm of Your Hand, Ain’t It Amazing, Gracie and (Its a) Monsters Holiday.

The albums will be released as they were originally issued and for the first time, appear in their original configuration on CD and Digital, mastered from the original analog tapes, and with expanded artwork & new liner notes.

When originally released in September of 1969, Tall Dark Stanger shot to #2 on the country album charts, fueled by the success of the title cut, which reached #1 on the singles charts.

10 of the 11 songs written or co-written by Owens, including White Satin Bed, co-written with Gene Price, and In The Middle Of A Teardrop, co-written with Buckaroos Don Rich and Doyle Holly.

Now, over four decades later, the classic album returns — mastered from the original analog tapes by Grammy®-winner Michael Graves, Produced for release by Grammy®-winner Cheryl Pawelski, and featuring expanded artwork including new liner notes from author Randy Poe (Buck Em! The Autobiography Of Buck Owens).

1. TALL DARK STRANGER
2. THERE’S GOTTA BE SOME CHANGES MADE
3. WHITE SATIN BED
4. DARLIN’, YOU CAN DEPEND ON ME
5. IN THE MIDDLE OF A TEARDROP
6. ACROSS THIS TOWN AND GONE
7. MAYBE IF I CLOSE MY EYES (IT’LL GO AWAY)
8. I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU
9. SING THAT KIND OF SONG
10. HURTIN’ LIKE I’VE NEVER HURT BEFORE
11. BUT YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU

Opening on the confidently upbeat title track, Owens then slides easily into the unpretentious ballad THERE’S GOTTA BE SOME CHANGES MADE, the mid-tempo WHITE SATIN BED and the fun and frisky DARLIN’, YOU CAN DEPEND ON ME, before bringing us the lonesome yearning of IN THE MIDDLE OF A TEARDROP.

Next up is the ’70s-inbued ACROSS THIS TOWN AND GONE and the lovely ballad MAYBE IF I CLOSE MY EYES (IT’LL GO AWAY), which are in turn backed by the joyful I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU, the lowly countryman vibe of SING THAT KIND OF SONG, with the album rounding out on the mid-tempo ballad HURTIN LIKE I’VE NEVER HURT BEFORE, closing on the troubadour embrace of BUT YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU.

Available for the first time since its original album release and for the first time on stand-alone CD and Digital formats the reissue of these latter day Buck Owens And His Buckaroos albums is a cause for celebration!
