For those of you not in the know, Ella & The Bossa Beat is a father-daughter duo founded by Ella and Magrus Borges. They present a Brazilian Jazz/Pop style of music combining Bossa Nova grooves with a soulful jazz influence.

In 2020, they released their first album together named �My Remedy�, capturing the attention of jazz and pop fans worldwide and in November 2022, Ella and Magrus released this, their sophomore album, entitled In the Moment.

The album, which introduces a new soulful and classy style, has already become increasingly popular among jazz lovers, Brazilian jazz listeners, and soul/jazz followers, which has led to the duo currently playing at many jazz venues, private events, festivals and even a residency at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.

Opening on the luxuriant Speak from the Heart and the smoky, late night groove within Why, they follow those up with the quietly playful Dreamer, the perky O Tempo Traz, the synth-jazz, and then we get the mid-tempo balladry of Forever.

Up next is the languishing beauty found within the sultry Show Me the Way, which is itself backed seamlessly by the Latin hipsway of the buoyant Estrelas No Ceu, the recording rounding out on the shimmeringly dulcet Slipping Away, closing on the soulful What Happened to Our Love.

Ella Borges was born in Miami and raised in Brazil. She sings in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. In addition to singing, she plays piano, guitar, writes lyrics, composes, arranges, and co-produces with her father Magrus Borges. At age twenty-two, she presents a unique style, given her roots from Brazil, and soulful voice.

In 2020, Ella was awarded The Focus Brazil award for Best Female Singer in Orlando. She is also a graduate from Stetson University with a degree in International Business and Music. Ella is a member of the Recording Academy, and is under the mentorship, taking private classes with jazz pianist Garry Dial.

Magrus Borges is a drummer, percussionist, composer, and producer from Belem do Para, Brazil. He has played and recorded with many international artists such as: Shakira, Grace Jones, Astrud Gilberto, Tania Maria, Larry Coryell, Caetano Veloso, Luis Melodia, Johnny Alf (one of the fathers of Bossa Nova), among many others.

He is currently touring and recording with Bebel Gilberto (daughter of legendary father of Bossa Nova, Joao Gilberto). In 2021, Magrus was nominated for a Grammy together with Bebel Gilberto, for her CD Agora. He has recorded six original albums, produced for various artists and is a member of the Recording Academy.
