Title - Living in a Daydream
Artist - Miguel Espinoza Flamenco Fusion w/Howard Levy

For those unaware, Miguel Espinoza Flamenco Fusion was formed in 2018 and has been playing to sold out audiences in the Denver area ever since, and were the honored winners of Denver’s Westword Magazine 2019 Music Award for Best of World Music.

Miguel Espinoza is hailed as one of the best flamenco guitarists in the world. Described by Guitar Player Magazine as mesmerizing, Miguel is much more than a virtuoso technician. Whether his lightening-fast fingers are skittering across the fretboard, fluttering over the sound hole like percussive hummingbird wings, or skillfully drawing achingly beautiful melodies out of the strings, Miguel’s award-winning compositions create an exotic, intoxicating musical elixir of flamenco fusion-one that is as sonically exciting as it is emotionally moving.

Randy Hoepker has a long career performing various styles on bass, guitar, and saxophone. He enjoys teaching jazz improvisation and arranging, coaching chamber music, and bringing unique musical experiences to audiences and performers.

Dianne Betkowski has performed, toured and recorded with the St. Louis, Utah, Honolulu and Colorado Symphony Orchestras. She is also a composer whose works have been performed by the Rochester Philharmonic, and the National, St. Louis, Houston, Honolulu and Colorado Symphonies, among many other groups.

Living in a Daydream (out April 23rd, 2023), is Miguel Espinoza Flamenco Fusion’s third full-length album and, perhaps, their most innovative and dynamic work to date.

The latest release features 8 original compositions, four in collaboration with two-time Grammy winner Howard Levy (harmonica/piano).

1. Nagi Yate
2. Bubble
3. Division
4. Zelda the Caterpillar
5. Sunrise
6. Falling Snow
7. Journey Home
8. The Storm

This simply heavenly, wholly embracing new album opens on the rhythmic gossamer of Nagi Yate (Spirit World) and the upbeat, free flowing melodies within Bubble and then the trio bring us the aching yearn within Division, and the playful Zelda the Caterpillar.

Along next is the joyfully orchestrated Sunrise and that is in turn backed seamlessly by the graceful Falling Snow, the recording rounding out on the harmoniously layered Journey Home, closing on the atmospherically-charged The Storm.

Gracefully defiant in form, style and structure, the musicians explore new sonic textures, shaped but not defined by their myriad creative influences.

Yet, for all its dexterity and vision, Living in a Daydream is spared none of the organic, expressive nuance and raw emotion that we’ve come to expect from this group.
