Title - Bite of the Street
Artist - Mac Gollehon & The Hispanic Mechanics
For those unaware, Mac Gollehon is an American trumpet player who has played on over two hundred gold and platinum records and remixes. He is especially noted for his performances on David Bowie’s Let’s Dance, Duran Duran’s records, Notorious and Skin Trade, Billy Ocean’s Get Outta My Dreams, and amongst other, Grace Jones’ Inside Story.
Gollehon was raised in North Carolina and began playing guitar in blues and what was then called uptown country bands four nights a week at age 10. At around that same time his father Joe Gollehon, a trumpet player with natural ability and tone quality much like Billy Butterfield, started him on the trumpet.
Furthermore, Mac has been a trumpet instructor at Mannes College of Music in New York City, and was the official trumpet coach for the U.S. Army and now brings us his brand new recording, Bite of the Street, which also features his band The Hispanic Mechanics.
