Title - Beowulf
Artist - Pangaea

For those unaware, for over 35 years, Pangaea has been creating music that intrigues the mind and inspires the soul. Since their formation in 1989, they have garnered interest in over fifty nations across the globe.

The band’s tight, melodic ensemble playing, highly proficient level of musicianship and excellent songwriting and singing are reminiscent of prog rock’s classic era while also showcasing the band’s modern era sensibilities.

The band was formed initially as Artica in 1989 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Corey and Andi Schenck, Ron Poulsen, Darrell Masingale (guitar/vocals) and Keith Tinker. Lead vocalist Steve Osborn joined the band in 1991, establishing the lineup that would become Pangaea.

The band debuted with the highly impressive The Rite Of Passage in 1996 and then went on to release two follow-up albums, only to then retire themselves from the music scene in 2008.

But luckily for all their fans, they got back together in 2021, eighteen years after the ensemble’s original line-up shared the same room, and have now brought forth their brand new album, Beowulf.

1. Necromancer (8:20)
2. Show Me the Way (4:38)
3. Masquerade (5:39)
4. Wasape (9:19)
5. Tomorrow Will Come (4:28)
6. What Am I Without You? (3:35)
7. A Month of Sundays (2:00)

The album kicks off in fine style on the near nine minute AOR prog/folk/rock opus Necromancer and then brings us the the piano-driven Show Me the Way, a veritably pop-nuanced Masquerade, the forceful, yet intricately woven nine minute Wasape, the recording rounding out on the free flowing, pleasingly mid-tempo AOR of Tomorrow Will Come, the beautiful orchestral swoon that ebbs throughout What Am I Without You?, closing on a rather, well, I think the best word to describe it would be vaudevillian finale of A Month of Sundays.

Line-up / Musicians:
- Andi Schenck / drums & percussion
- Corey Schenck / keyboards, guitars
- Steven Osborn / vocals, guitars
- Ron Poulsen / bass
- Darrell Masingale / guitar
