Title - Live from The Lone Star Roadhouse New York City 88
Artist - Dickey Betts

For those unaware, the late great guitar legend Dickey Betts recorded live on January 1988 in New York City at the Lone Star Roadhouse. The set was broadcast on classic rock NYC radio station WNEW-FM and features a stellar band of musicians, including Gov’t Mule and Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes along with Nashville keyboard player Johnny Neel, bassist Marty Privette and Matt Abts on drums.

The set features tracks from the Dickey Betts 1988 album, Pattern Disruptive including his tribute to Duane Allman, Duane’s Tune along with many Allman Brothers classics, such as the Betts-written tracks, Blue Sky, Jessica, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, and other ABB standards including Statesboro Blue and One Way Out.

The live set also features some all-star guest players including Rick Derringer on Rock And Roll, Hoochie Koo, Jack Bruce on Spoonful and Mick Taylor on Southbound. The CD version is the complete 120-minute concert featuring seven tracks unavailable on the limited edition blue colored double vinyl version and never previously released.

CD 1:
1. Rock Bottom
2. Blue Sky
3. Warren Haynes introduction
4. Time To Roll
5. Duane’s Tune
6. The Blues Ain’t Nothing
7. Far Cry
8. Heartbreak Line
9. In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
10. Loverman
11. Jessica

This invigoratingly captivating new live collection of songs opens on the gritty blues rock of Rock Bottom, the scintillating romp of Blue Sky and after a brief Warren Hayes introduction, the Southern rocker Time To Roll is brought forth.

Along next is the long highway drive of Duane’s Tune and the smokin’ blues of The Blues Ain’t Nothing and they are in turn backed by the guitar busting Far Cry, the Clapton-esque Heartbreak Line, and the brilliant trio of a languishing In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed, the rhythmic Loverman and the keyboard frenetic rocker Jessica.

CD 2:
1. Under The Guns Of Love
2. Statesboro Blues
3. One Way Out
4. Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo
5. Spoonful
6. Southbound

The second disc opens on the hidden gem Under The Guns Of Love and the searing guitar work brought forth on Statesboro Blues, before letting loose on the harmonica-driven One Way Out, the always brilliant to hear rocker Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo, the set coming to a close on the low slung Spoonful and the countrified rocker Southbound.
