Title - Beyond The Warrior’s Eyes
Artist - Brian Tarquin
For those unaware, lifting up our veterans through music is something that Brian Tarquin & his Heavy Friends will do until there are no more wars. Brian’s friends include superhero musicians that love working with him on a number of albums he’s released from hard rock to jazz over the past (20) years).
“Beyond The Warrior’s Eyes” (out January 19th, on Downtown Music/Dashgo Distribution) honors military soldiers who defend our freedoms,” Brian explains. “I wanted a true star- studded musician tribute of soaring instrumental songs. So, I was very fortunate to get such iconic players as Jean-Luc Ponty, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford and Steve Morse to help me express our gratitude.”

Multi Emmy Award winning Brian Tarquin opens up his new recording on the funk-grooved title track Beyond The Warrior’s Eyes (featuring French virtuoso violinist and jazz composer Jean-Luc Ponty) and the melodic rock-pop of The Gates of Valhalla (featuring both Eric Johnson & Dean Brown), and then we get the soaring Quiet Desperation (featuring both Robben Ford & Hal Lindes) and the rocker Behind the Iron Curtain (featuring former guitarist of Megadeth, Chris Poland).
Along next is the veritably shimmering pop-rocker Faith & Hope (feat Steve Morse & John Tropea) and the propulsive A Soldier’s Journey (featuring Steve Kindler and the highly impressive Budapest Symphony Orchestra), and they are in turn backed by the drum-led, guitar wonderment thereafter of La Sierra Del Norte (featuring Carl Verheyen, best known for being the guitarist of Supertramp), the album rounding out on the euphorically-charged Common Valour (featuring the rust belt blues shouter and guitarist Larry McCray), closing on the glistening rock opus These Colors Don’t Run (featuring both Steve Morse & Phil Naro).
A heavy and glorious fusion-prog collection, “Beyond the Warrior’s Eyes” is Brian and his friends: Jean-Luc Ponty, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford (Miles Davis), Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Dean Brown (David Sanborn), Hal Lindes (Dire Straits), Chris Poland (Megadeth), John Tropea (Billy Cobham), Steve Kindler (Jeff Beck), Carl Verheyen (Supertramp) & Larry McCray (John Mayall), the late Phil Naro, and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, all coming together on his latest collaborative album.
