Title - The Divine Porportion
Artist - GiGo

Meet GiGo, a UK-based rock band with a wealth of experience and talent, which came together during the worldwide pandemic of the early 2020s.

The music of GiGo is 100% distinctive and original, featuring members from Flip, Kracked Earth, Saxon, and Terry Newman Project. However, don’t let these associations create preconceived notions of the band’s sound.

For it’s often said that great bands boast diverse line-ups that bring fresh ideas while working together seamlessly, like a well-oiled machine, and that is most definitely what has happened here with this special brew of musicians.

With a definitive musical leaning toward such ’80s bands as Mike & The Mechanics and Johnny Hates Jazz, and with an American slant that encompasses the vibe laid down by both Don Henley and even Steely Dan, their brand new album The Divine Proportion is out now via Melodic Revolution Records.

1. Fly In The Ointment (5:21)
2. Hold Me In Your Heart (4:27)
3. Game Of Life (5:08)
4. Down In Durango (5:21)
5. That’s What They Say About Love (4:31)
6. You’re The Kind Of Drug (5:37)
7. Another Rainstorm (4:20)
8. Highway To Your Soul (4:55)
9. The Proof (9:41)

This fascinatingly refreshing musical experiment opens on the Vincent Price-intro’d (kinda sorta) bouncy pop-rock of Fly In The Ointment and then we get the veritably translucent ballad Hold Me In Your Heart, the ’80s synth-pop gem Game Of Life and the jangly rocker Down In Durango.

Along next is the languishing That’s What They Say About Love and the airy pop of You’re The Kind Of Drug, and they are in turn backed seamlessly by the free flowing Another Rainstorm, the album rounding out on the countrified Highway To Your Soul, closing on the all-encompassing embrace that makes The Proof come to life.

Musicians:
Anthony Duke- Vocals & Acoustic Guitars
Andy Kinch- Keyboards & Pre-Production
Doug Scarratt- Guitars
Don Schiff- NS/Stick Bass & live strings on “The Proof”
Jamie-Ray Scarratt- Drums and Percussion
