Title - Tree of Life
Artist - David Bailis

For those not in the know, DAVID BAILIS is a multi-talented musician best known for his skills as a guitarist. Equally accomplished as a composer, producer and educator David has showcased his musical talents throughout the world, performing to sold out crowds at a range of venues from Carnegie Hall to Golden Gate Park.

In addition to touring as a guitarist for numerous artists, David was a longtime member of the renowned electro funk band Pimps of Joytime and has appeared with/collaborated with a diverse group of artists ranging from Grammy-nominated singer/emcee and Fugees alum John Forte, Chris Speed (The Bad Plus), Philip Glass and Sierre Leone’s hip-hop world music superstar Bajah & the Dry Eye Crew.

David leads his own group whose debut album ‘Firebrand’ (Ropeadope Records) was featured on numerous outlets including Spotify’s top curated jazz playlist - ‘The State of Jazz’ and released the acclaimed follow up record 3D<>DB3 in November of 2023.

David, who has been profiled in a wide range of publications including a full page feature in BassPlayer Magazine and the New York Times, now releases his brand new album, Tree of Life this August.

1. Rays of Light (5:14)
2. Tree of Life (3:38)
3. Big Dreams (7:29)
4. Open Your Eyes (3:33)
5. Is Eternal (7:36)

This musically resplendent new recording opens on the decoratively sublime Rays of Light and then brings us the more strident title track Tree of Life, which is itself backed by the effervescent Big Dreams, the album rounding out on the laid back, low slung balladry of Open Your Eyes, coming to a close on the gently rambunctious melodies that drive Is Eternal.
