Title - Emi’s Song
Artist - Neil Adler
For those not in the know, Neil Adler grew up with musician parents and thus music has always been part of his life. He’s played and studied with masters of his craft, teaches, and has just released his brand new album entitled Emi’s Song, a record featuring original compositions, with Neil playing piano and chromatic harmonica, Jeff Buenz on 6-string bass, and drummer Akira Tana, and Carlitos Medrano on congas.
The music is energetic and melodic, driven and guided by a rhythmic core, this trio creates a great groove for your mind with every track. As Neil says, these are “... twelve tunes to make life better.”

This dutifully elegant new recording opens on the lazy-hazy, Parisian-hued title track Emi’s Song and the spiritedly forthright Besame Mucho and then we get the upbeat and joyous Yearnin’, the laid back, yet all-encompassing Tell Me a Bedtime Story, and then come the gently frenetic Blues for McCoy, and smoothly luxuriant Bill Evans Medley (Remembering The Rain/Only Child/My Bells).
Along next is the silky The Peacocks and the Afro-Cuban swirls and twirls that drive Nelson’s Son, and they are in turn backed seamlessly by the languishing Tenderly/That’s All, the cultured Los Tres Golpes, the album rounding out on some old ragtime ambiance that thrives within Century Rag, closing on the short, but nonetheless, chromatic harmonica-styled sweet Donna Lee.
Musicians:
Neil Adler - piano & chromatic harmonica
Jeff Buenz - six string bass
Akira Tana - drums
Carlitos Medrano - congas
