Title - 'The Best of ... Millennium Collection' (Uni)
Artist - Lionel Richie
It is hard to imagine that when it comes to Greatest Hits records, they always fall flat on people's minds. That comes in the case for some of even the greatest songwriters ever, and Lionel Richie is absolutely no acception. His music has truly made a testimony of what our lives go through every single day. But, that isn't always the case when making an accurate "hits" collection. The 2003 Best Of Lionel Richie, is part of Universal's Millennium Collection. This collection is used by making budget CD's for people who want the best in a artist, but can't afford the cost. The songs here are believe it or not, ranged very poorly on this album. Still, there are songs that are very strong and assertive like "Say You, Say Me," "You Are", and 'Hello", and there are songs that are worth dancing to like "Dancing On The Ceiling" and "All Night Long." Unfortunately, there are so many good songs here that were just missing from this collection. I mean, how in the world could you make a Greatest Hits collection for Lionel Richie's music, without having "Endless Love", his hit duet with Diana Ross, or other good songs like "Running With The Night", "Truly", "Love Will Conquer All", or his latest hits like "Angel", and "To Love A Woman"?! Aside from all that though, if you're not to familair with Lionel's work and don't have a lot of money, then this is the CD for you!
