For those unaware, from her 2011 debut album, “Crossing Over”, to her #1 Billboard charting 2022 album, “SHINE”, Innervision Records label recording artist Kim Scott has impressed audiences across the globe in performances and on the airwaves.
Known for her exceptional tone, intoxicating melodies, and flawless technique, she is one of the most sought-after flutists in both the classical and jazz fields.
The contemporary jazz superstar has an ever-growing fan base garnered from her continued presence on the performance scene and from her visibility as radio host of the nationally syndicated, two-hour jazz program, “Kim Scott’s Block Party Radio”, which airs weekly across the world. She’s a fresh image and sound for today’s contemporary jazz scene.
With five albums to her credit, Kim Scott has proven to be a mainstay in the field and a promise for the future as both a soloist and collaborator and now she is releasing a brand new 6th album entitled Livin’ it Up (out now via Innervision Records).
Co-written with acclaimed collaborators like Greg Manning, Kelvin Wooten, and Paul Brown, the album features original compositions and reimagined covers, including Herb Alpert’s “Rise” and The Police’s “Every Breath You Take.”

This magnificently ambient, divinely cultured new recording opens on the aptly-titled, smooth as silk Like Butter (featuring Jeff Ryan) and then we get the gorgeously sumptuous Magic City Streets, the woodwind-imbibed, rhythmically-groovy Alma de Lisbon (featuring Kelvin Wooten) and then her unique take on The Police’s classic Every Breath You Take is brought forth.
With dynamic performances from guest artists like Phil Davis and Jeff Ryan, and a collection radiating positivity, showcasing Kim’s signature style throughout, along next is the infectiously-hued Freedom which is in turn backed seamlessly by a radiating, veritably shimmering instrumental rendition of the captivating ballad I Will Always Love You (featuring Kelly O’Neal), the easy listening, gentle dance floor swirls and twirls within So What If I Rise?, the music rounding out on the wistful Love Thy Neighbor (featuring Phil Davis), closing on the Latin hipsway-inspired soul of You Got the Power (Ladies’ Anthem) (featuring Naomi Achu).
