Title - Something Good Out of Nothing
Artist - Luke Marzec

You might have already heard the first side, so to speak, of this album Something Good Out of Nothing via radio play singles and such, but the full album is prepping for release next week, August 15th, 2025 and it is a doozy!

Think the musicality of Amy Winehouse’s band fronted by a younger but equally gravel-vocalized Louis Armstrong. Potent stuff, I think you will all agree.

Luke Marzec is something of an old soul ... an artist whose existence evokes classic soul but with a modern twist. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter who’s blending vintage soul, modern jazz, and deeply evocative storytelling.

If you listen to his earlier single I Can’t Get You Out Of My Mind, you’ll hear those Amy-Winehouse-ism’s in full force. The second single Growing Up With You took a turn for the hypnotic, layering sax loops, vintage R&B textures, and jazz-inflected grooves to capture the intimacy of long-lasting relationships.

1. I Can’t Get You Out Of My Mind
2. Growing Up With You
3. Easy On Me
4. Red Boletes
5. Broken Promises
6. Space To Be Free
7. Never Mind
8. Enough Of Single Measures
9. Lately

British newcomer Marzec opens his stunning album on the throaty R&B beauty I Can’t Get You Out Of My Mind and then we get the soulful Growing Up With You, the all-embracing Easy On Me and the languishing ballad Red Boletes.

Along next is the authentically grooved, funky-hued beauty Broken Promises which is itself backed seamlessly by the soulfully-stanced Space To Be Free, the cultured balladry of the ambient Never Mind, the album rounding out on the smoothly driven Enough Of Single Measures, closing on the earthy, dulcetly stoic, yet heartfelt ballad Lately.

Luke’s journey is as genre-defying as his music. A prodigy at the Royal College of Music, he spent years in the structured world of classical and jazz before breaking free—trading orchestras for raves, sax solos for synth experiments, and London’s chaos for the tranquility of the Devon countryside.

He lived on a 44-foot narrowboat during the pandemic where he travelled many parts of the UK on the canal networks living off of coal fire and off grid electricity while crafting his next musical evolution. He’s co-written with Maverick Sabre, VC Pines, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, and Jazzanova, and curates Headroom, a must-know London jam session where experimental jazz meets cutting-edge electronica.

Another fun fact is that he’s spent time working in the TV/film industry doing set-dressing (dressing sets with real and artificial plants) and he was a big part of creating the Candy Tree in the Timothee Chalamet Wonka film (2023).

Now, with over 120K monthly Spotify listeners, his debut album - Something Good Out Of Nothing comes out August 15th and it pulses with contradictions: analog warmth meets digital experimentation, raw emotion meets intricate production, and restless energy meets quiet reflection.
