Title - Romeo Void – Live ’81-’85
Artist - Romeo Void
For those unaware, San Francisco-based post-punk/new wave scene band Romeo Void actively toured the world throughout their early 1980s career.
The set compiles some of the band’s best performances from their personal recording archives. Features seventeen tracks from their three studio albums including the alternative radio hits, Never Say Never and A Girl In Trouble (Is A Temporary Thing) along with fan favorites Chinatown, Instincts, White Sweater and others.
The tracks are compiled from four different dates starting in Albany, New York in 1981, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1982 and two from their 1985 European tour in Berlin and London. Booklet includes rare images from the band’s personal collection of photos and memorabilia. The artwork was designed by band member Frank Zincavage.

The American new wave and post-punk band from San Francisco, California, open this new live set compilation on the jangly guitar work of In The Dark, the swooning gem Flashflood and the drum-led beauty Shake The Hands Of Time, and then we are gifted the melodious Not Safe, the fashionable rocker Undercover Kept, the swirling White Sweater, before the catchy vibe of S.O.S., the rhythmically infectious Never Say Never and the pulsing I Mean It are brought forth.
Along next is the forthright rock gem Billy’s Birthday, the guitar-fed alt-rocker Just Too Easy and the soaring Say No and they are in turn backed seamlessly by the low slung Instincts, the upbeat and infectiously crafted A Girl In Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing), and after a band introduction, they give us the vibrantly alive Out On My Own, the live tracks rounding out on the drum-tastic Six Days and One, the ambient rocker Chinatown, coming to a close on more drums that lead us into the guitar rock and pop bounce of Myself To Myself.
