For those unaware, Marie-Paule Franke (who was born in Germany and raised in Belgium) teams up with an international quartet based in New York for a unique and thought-provoking set of her original songs.

Her new album is entitled Through The Cracks The Light Is Born and brings forth seven brand new, diverse compositions, with the lyrics for five of them being hers, two others having been contributed by Antonio Sammael.

Franke, whose background artistically spans classical music, funk, chanson, and jazz, brings all of that history and more into the lyrical writing here, letting the music speak for itself at times in such a wondrous, evenflow of a way that you could swear you had been gently carried away throughout its thirty minute run.
