Title - It’s In Our Blood
Artist - Red Rockers

For those still unaware, during their heyday, the Red Rockers were often referred to as America’s answer to The Clash. In 1981, they released their debut album, Condition Red with the legendary San Francisco punk/new wave label, 415 Records.

In 1982, they moved onto Columbia Records with the breakthrough album, Good as Gold, and had an alternative/new wave radio hit with the song, China.

They recorded one other studio album before disbanding in 1985. In 2023, the band reunited in their hometown of New Orleans at the legendary club Tipitina’s for a performance of Condition Red in its entirety.

The set included other songs from the band’s career along with some blistering versions of The Who’s My Generation, and The Clash’s classic anthem, I’m So Bored With The U.S.A. Despite the passage of time, the band really captured the fire and passion of that first record.

You can hear it in every note of this recording. The release is available on translucent red vinyl, CD and Blu-ray video.

Recorded at Tipitina’s in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 11th, 2023, the band opens this vibrant live set on a short-taped intro and then we are into the ballistically-charged I’m So Bored With the U.S.A., the propulsive angst within Teenage Underground, the guitar frenzy that drives Peer Pressure and the melodic rocker Can You Hear, and then they bring forth the rhythmical Know What I Think, the fist clenched and raised crowd pleaser United We Stand, and the anthemic Dead Heroes.

Active from 1979 to 1985, and originally inspired by the radical political songs and styles of the Clash and the Dils, along next from the Red Rockers is the frenetically-fueled Grow Up, the drum-fed brilliance of Condition Red/My Generation, the alt-rock foot tapper Hold On and the power pop, alt-driven Missing In Action, and they are in turn backed seamlessly by the raw-vibed White Law, the rocktastic Voice Of America, the set rounding out on the alt-indie sounds of Live Or Die, coming to a close on an early cut, the excellent of Guns Of Revolution.

Musicians / Instruments:
John Thomas Griffith - Lead Vocals, Guitar
John Singletary - Lead Vocals, Guitar
Darren Hill - Bass, Vocals
Bryan Barberot - Drums
