For those unaware, When Even Goes East, the 8th recording from the Dave Wilson Quartet, and their first studio album since the 2015 Grammy nominated There Was Never, contains ten tracks in all; a compilation of four original songs penned by Dave, and six unique, compelling, and heartfelt arrangements of some of our favorite “Pop” music “New” standards.

The Dave Wilson Quartet is a Contemporary Jazz group led by the noted Tenor/Soprano Saxophonist, Educator, and composer to further and bring to fruition the music and vision of Dave Wilson, the artist. Along next is the languishing beauty of aptly-titled Slow Freeze and the furtively sculpted Intragalactic Sunset and then we are in turn gifted a veritably glistening The Fool on the Hill, the set rounding out all-too-soon on a playfully upbeat rendering of Fire, coming to a close on their affectingly impassioned Wichita Lineman.
