For those unaware, with the recent May 15th, 2026 release of his latest effort entitled Break My Chains, Alex Kilroy has lifted not only self-imposed restraints but he hopes it opens others eyes also; hence the title.

Alex Kilroy is an acclaimed blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter based in Orlando, Florida. Born in Transylvania, Romania, he traded classical piano for the blues after a life-changing introduction to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

As an active presence in the local circuit and recognized by the Orlando Blues & Roots Alliance, Kilroy became a prodigy opening for legendary American artists by age fourteen. Today, he delivers powerful performances that honor traditional roots while pushing modern boundaries.

Rooted in blues tradition with a modern melodic edge, the project is a triumphant testament to his journey, honoring his late father’s lessons of discipline and realizing a lifelong dream.

With his relentless pursuit of musical freedom having led him across the world to the United States, where he earned a Berklee scholarship and eventually settling in Florida, Alex opens his debut album on the funkily grooved Standing Tall and the driven title track Break My Chains and then we get gifted the guitar driven Answer USA, the beautifully free flowing Angel and then both the ambient smoothness of All That Matters and the all-embracing Let Me Play The Blues For You.

Along next is his quite stunningly authentic rendition of The Allman Brothers Band’s Midnight Rider and the jaunty My Heart Is Yours and they are in turn backed by the low key balladry of Visions Of The Past, the melodic rocking brilliance of Let The Good Times Roll, the set rounding out on the affecting instrumental Kilroy’s Ballad, coming to a close on the emotive mid-tempo ballad Hard To Let You Go.
