For those not in the know, drummer, composer, producer and MVD Audio recording artist Bob Holz will release an album on November 6th, 2026, featuring Rolling Stones bassist Darry Jones, John McLaughlin, Jean Luc Ponty, Larry Coryell, Randy Brecker, Stanley Clarke and Mike Stern.

The album is titled Next In Line and is engineered by Dennis Moody with the Executive Producer being Rob Stathis. Next In Line is a so-termed Best of Bob Holz compilation of ten remastered tracks selected from Bob’s eight previously released albums on MVD Audio.

Featuring throughout former Weather Report drummer Alex Acuna, Holz opens his new recording on the reggae-fused Jammin Man whereas the brilliant Shooting Range brings to the fore the expertly crafted solos between Larry Coryell, Randy Brecker and Steve Weingart, which are in turn backed by a mini Mahavishnu Orchestra reunion (featuring John McLaughlin, Jean Luc Ponty and Ralphe Armstrong) on the mesmerizing World Turned Upside Down, the affectingly sculpted Eleven High, and then comes an aptly-titled, and genuinely heartfelt tribute to Larry Coryel on Larry’s Blues.

Along next is the longest track on the album, the pulsing Flat Out (featuring Randy Brecker on trumpet) and which is itself followed seamlessly by the Better Try (featuring bassist Darry Jones and saxophonist Brandon Fields), and then comes the beautifully crafted The Tunnel (and which itself contains the guitar playing of the late, great Dean Brown), the set rounding out on the emotive Silverthorne, coming to a close on a deliciously free flowing Moving Eyes (which features guitarist Mike Stern).
