For those unaware, Ali Handal is a Los Angeles–based guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose music fuses blues-rock grit, bold guitar work, melodic fire, and emotionally honest songwriting. A once straight-A psychology student at UCLA before she had to stop ignoring her truth that she was meant to be a musician, Ali opens up the new recording on the melodious rocker Take Down and the Sass Jordan-imbibed blues-rock brilliance of High Road, and then we are gifted the affectingly inviting, slide-guitar hued Pour Me Another, a sensuous cover of the famous Run-D.M.C. collaboration Walk This Way and the emotively engaging If I Had Your Life.
