'Politics of Love'
(Mallika Sherawat, Brian J. White, Ruby Dee, Loretta Devine, et al / DVD / R / (2010) 2011 / Code Black)

Overview: Politics makes strange bedfellows, but never stranger than when a sexy, savvy, African-American conservative Republican reluctantly falls for his Democratic counterpart: a beautiful Indian-American Obama campaign volunteer. Sparks fly, tempers flare, heads turn, and romance blossoms for this mismatched pair of lovers in the frantic and intoxicating days leading up to Election Day. Can the politics of love conquer all?

DVD Verdict: In a tale of two people of the opposite sex, let alone opposite political camps, they start off hating each other but eventually get together romantically. Heard it all before, sure you have, of course. However, in 'Politics of Love,' the woman plays the Democrat! I knooow, it shocked me too, LOL!

Well, and for the recordm, women are more like to vote Democrat than men. However, I think far more Indian Americans vote Republican than African Americans do. But, I digress! Obviously with its sights set on a black audience, the film shows a a black man with a "white," beautiful Indian-American woman. Hopefully, in this day and age it doesn't offend anyone of either race.

But then again, and with all that said, this film may upset half of its targeted audience! Anyway, the film (also known as Love Barack) a romantic comedy that barely exploits its most interesting aspects – it’s a socio-political and cultural mishmash. Despite its colorful cast of characters, from varying backgrounds and interests, I can’t say that any of them really separates themselves from the others, or is memorable enough to stand out, sorry. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
