'VeggieTales: Princess and the Pop Star'
(DVD / NR / 2011 / Big Idea)

Overview: Princess Poppyseed’s life on her family’s farm is far from the glamorous but lonely world of her favorite pop singer Vanna Banana. On a chance meeting at a playground, Vanna and Princess cross paths and realize that they look almost exactly alike—which leads to the crazy secret plan where they decide to switch lives!

DVD Verdict: The all-new princess-themed DVD title, 'VeggieTales®: Princess and the Pop Star' is now here for kids everywhere to enjoy - and enjoy they should/will!

With a story line told many times, in many different ways, 'VeggieTales: Princess and the Pop Star' still manages to get the message that helps young girls understand we are all created unique and special across in a fresh, explanatory manner.

Sure, in all truth it is essentially the story of 'The Prince and the Pauper' - complete with sing-along songs and a modern-day twist - BUT it still houses enough of a new message to be Big Idea's second video targeting young girls ... in all the right ways, of course!

For, more than just a deep, uplifting message, being that Veggie Tales productions are known for their Bible-centered lessons, this new film is no different. Based on the teachings in Jeremiah 1:5, these zany, crooning vegetables use humor and fun to remind children that God has a plan for them and that everyone’s life is important.

As a special bonus, it features the new original song, 'You Never Are' written and performed by this year’s Dove Award-winning Artist of the Year Francesca Battistelli. The DVD also includes the silly song sing-alongs, behind the music interviews, and “Princess Poppyseed’s Points for Being Uniquely You”. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
