'Best of Antiques Roadshow'
(Various / DVD / NR / 2011 / PBS)

Overview: Watch as owners recount tales of family heirlooms, yard sale bargains, and long-neglected items salvaged from attics and basements, while experts reveal the fascinating truths about these finds. Three episodes - Simply the Best, Trash to Treasure, Politically Collect.

DVD Verdict: My goodness, doesn't it seem like this show has been on public television forever?! It's been in houses all over America as Sunday night traditions, that's for sure.

Anyway, by now, you all now the rundown: people bring in what they hope will keep them monetarily warm in their futures, having shifted around in their attics and locating old, dusty 'relics'!

Led by Mark L. Wahlberg and his bunch of intrepid evaluators, the show traveled from city to city for (usually) a pair of hour-long shows. Regional residents descend on a convention center, where the likes of the Keno Brothers examine furniture, clocks, medlas, etc - and then explain to owners why they got dusty in their attic for nothing!

Most times, that is, for sometimes there's a jewel in the dirt!

Anyway, fort he over thrill is why the people come on the show! Often a staggering price is quoted, much of the time, at least a few hundred dollars of value is assigned to some find. And, for all us Grinch-type people, every now and then a fake is exposed! This is a Full-Screen Presentation (1.66:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
