'Bugs Bunny's Cupid Capers'
(DVD / NR / 2010 / Warner Home Video)

Overview: This Valentine’s Day, Warner Home Video (WHV) will present cartoon lovers with an animated treat, Bugs Bunny’s Cupid Capers, a delightful TV special available on DVD for the first time, January 12, 2010.

DVD: OK, come on now, Warner Bros., what's this caper all about, truly? There is only the one (1) 24 minute TV special and two (2) 6 minute cartoons on this disc - a disc that can easily hold over 180 minutes!

Anyway, what do we have here? Well, we have Elmer Fudd as Cupid, but since the original voice of Elmer died in the late 1950's WB has never been able to find a suitable replacement - and so yes, to my opinion, the worst is in this TV special!

So, Fudd plays Cupid and as you would expect, romantic mayhem is what results in this special of classic animated shorts featuring a host of favorite Looney Tunes characters. In this Valentine’s special, Bugs Bunny becomes an amorous rabbit when he’s caught by Cupid’s arrow - in this case, fired by Elmer Fudd.

Throughout their high-jinks Bugs and Elmer are joined by Tweety, Sylvester, Porky/Petunia Pig, Speedy Gonzales, Foghorn Leghorn, the Road Runner, Pepe Le Pew and many others.

Clips, and only clips are shown here, as there are no complete cartoons, are used from the following cartoons: Hare Trimed (1953), Bugs Bunny Grey Hounded Hare (1948), Bugs Bunny Little Beau Pepe (1952), Pepe Le Pew Super Snooper (1952), Daffy Duck Rabbit Romeo (1957), Bugs Bunny Wild Over You (1953), Of Rice & Hen (1953), Foghorn Leghorn Devil May Hare (1953), and Bugs & Tasmanian Devil.

To wrap up the debackle, we have two (2) un-restored, but complete cartoons as bonus material: 'Holiday Highlights' - from the Golden Age of Looney Tunes Laserdisc Set, and 'Past Perfumance' w/ Pepe Le Pew. [PJM] This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:

Bonus Shorts - 'Holiday Highlights' and 'Past Perfumance,' starring Pepe LePew
Six (6) Menu-Based Puzzle Games. www.whvdirect.com
