'Full House - The Complete Sixth Season'
(John Stamos, Bob Saget, et al / 4-Disc DVD / NR / (1987) 2007 / Warner Bros.)

Overview: This is a story about a sports broadcaster later turned morning talk show host Danny Tanner and his three little girls, D.J. (Donna Jo), Stephanie and Michelle Tanner. Before the show begins, Danny Tanner's wife is killed by a drunk driver. So he needs help raising his three little girls. He asks his rock musician brother-in-law, Jesse Katsopolis and his comedian best friend, Joey Gladstone to move in with them. As the show goes on, Jesse gets married to Rebecca Donaldson, Danny's co host of the talk show. The two have kids of their own, who are twins, Alexander and Nicholas Katsopolis. However, the show is about what happens as the story is going on.

DVD Verdict: Our whole family enjoys this show. We have family members that pretty well cover all age groups and we all enjoy it. But then, we aren't the kind of people who find happiness and enjoyment in watching people create conflict, call names, find ways to cause pain and behave in other unhealthy and unproductive behaviors. This show is about ordinary people living normal lives in an unusual circumstance. There is something for the adults, the teen, the elementary aged child. There isn't great literature involved, there's nothing extraordinarily ground breaking, it's just nice, safe entertainment that can, at times, be used to help a family member deal with something that is going on in our nice, boring, normal lives.

I watched this growing up and now my daughter is watching and enjoying the series. I can't express to you what a major part of her world it is. She loves DJ for the "Big Sister" lessons, Stephanie for the "Hey, I'm almost as big as her!" and Michelle because "she's the baby". She adores uncle Jesse, uncle Joey and Danny. The show has talked about such IMPORTANT character builders like: honesty, integrity, being smart, dealing with bullies, how NOT to become a bully, what it's like to lose your first tooth, what it's like when adults argue, how do grandparents fit into familes, why do some families have one mommy or one daddy or MORE than one mommy and daddy, celebrating special occasions, school programs, choosing right over wrong and a host of other things yet to be discovered. Thank you to each and every actor, producer, director, writer, editor, grip (!) and staff member involved in doing this show back in the 80's and the 90's - and I thank the people putting it out NOW! This is a Standard Version and does not come with any Special Features
