'UB40: Live at Montreux 2002'
(UB40, et al / DVD / NR / 2007 / Eagle Vision USA)

Overview: UB40 are one of the most successful British acts of all time, with a huge string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic and around the globe. Featuring most of their greatest hits, including both songs to hit #1 in America: "Red, Red Wine" and "Can't Help Falling In Love". To date, 2002 is the band's only appearance at the Montreux Festival but clearly inspired them to produce one of their finest performances. This performance is being simultaneously released on CD.

DVD Verdict: Quite simply put, Birmingham's (UK) best-loved pop band returns for this terrific concert, captured live at the Montreux Festival in 2002. Eagle Rock has released so many shows from the Montreux Jazz Festival in the last few months that if you're collecting them all you've already gotten yourself quite a nostalgic haul! And I'm truly glad to say that this new UB40 Montreux DVD from 2002 is a keeper. With an impressive, comprehensive set list that covers all their U.S. hits (the Neil Diamond cover, the Al Green cover, the Smokey Robinson cover, etc.) and U.K. singles like “If It Happens Again” and “Don’t Break My Heart,” there is truly no downside to this wonderful visual artistry. Thankfully bands like UB40 can put on a solid live show until they collapse into a pile of dust onstage - even 15 years on from their original heyday! And so sure watching the show as one long live hits parade is fun, and sure some of the taping angles aren't of the most solid, but pop it in whilst you cook dinner on the BBQ and you'll get that essential UB40 experience begin to waft over you like the smell of that cooking steak on the grill! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the track listing of:

1) The Way You Do The Things You Do 2) Here I Am (Come And Take Me) 3) One In Ten 4) Come Back Darling 5) If It Happens Again 6) Homely Girl 7) Kingston Town 8) Reggae Music 9) Don't Break My Heart 10) Love It When You Smile 11) Rat In Mi Kitchen 12) Rudie 13) Cover Up 14) Since I Met You Lady 15) Maybe Tomorrow / Anything Mi Chat 16) Johnny Too Bad 17) Wear You To The Ball 18) Red, Red Wine 19) Can't Help Falling In Love 20) Cherry Oh Baby, and 21) Many Rivers To Cross.
