'Boston Legal - Season 3'
(William Shatner, Candice Bergen, James Spader, et al / 7-Disc DVD / NR / (2004) 2007 / 20th Century Fox)

Overview: While a scandalous murder trial rocks the city, it's business as usual at the law offices of Crane, Poole & Schmidt, which means a full caseload of criminal insanity, hostage situations, cross-dressing, cannibalism and outright mayhem! Ethically-challenged newcomer Jeffrey Coho fits right in, lustful litigator Denny Crane finally meets his match and attorney Alan Shore continues to stretch the boundaries of the law – and prime time television! Created by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, The Practice) and starring multiple-Emmy Award-winners James Spader, William Shatner and Candice Bergen, "Boston Legal" is a brilliant combination of biting social commentary, riveting drama, and wickedly outrageous humor.

DVD Verdict: 'Boston Legal' is without a doubt the most entertaining show on television today! The script writers are witty, articulate and endearingly outrageous. The acting is superb! I personally relish the political and social statements that are threaded through the show. Of course the writers are liberal, but since I happen to agree with their views, it's particularly pleasant for me to watch. There are some very poignant moments in most of the episodes and a subtle undercurrent that's noticeable if you're alert.

Indeed, David E Kelly is a master of the comedic dram and perfects it here with season three of 'Boston Legal.' After seasons one and two, you would be hard-pressed to find anything much better. But season 3 brings us the incomparable Jeffrey Coho (Craig Bierko). He only stayed for part of the season, but I would love to see his character expanded on into his own series! Maybe "Jeffrey coho: Private Eye"?! Hahaha! He's a great character and Craig Bierko milked him for all he was worth. We miss you Jeffrey Coho.

And kudos to the entire cast - especially to Candice Bergen whom I have always loved, to William Shatner whom I have always admired and followed from the days of Star Trek, and to James Spader whose "Closings" in court I have found to be the very best in any Law Show to date. To the directors, producers, writers, remaining cast and to the entire crew keep up the very excellent work. I am looking forward to Seasons 4, 5, 6, 7...........may it never end. Note: - This is perhaps the only program that's truly worth viewing reruns. It will be a sad day when they take this one off the air! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:

"Out of Order?" Featurette
"Character Witness" Featurette
