'Lipstick Jungle - Season One'
(Brooke Shields, Kim Raver, et al / 2-Disc DVD / NR / (2007) 2008 / Universal Studios)

Overview: Based on the best-selling novel by Candace Bushnell author of Sex and the City Lipstick Jungle is the enticing new dramedy that follows three high-powered friends as they weather the ups and downs of lives lived at the top of their game.

DVD Verdict: This is a GREAT well made TV series. NBC definitely has a hit show on their hands. I am hooked after the first few episodes and can't wait for season 2 to start. The first season was so good but short. Well written by the same writer Candance Bushnell of Sex & The City. Lots of great fashion, powerful women you can relate to, love, friendships, office politics, drama, great fun and best of all...hot men!

The young Kirby Atwood play by Robert Buckley is totally eye candy and Andrew McCarthy and Paul Blackthorne ain't bad either. I am not a Brooke Shields fan either and find her acting still weak but Kim Raver who plays Nico Reilly is superb in her role. The storyline and just the guys alone are worth watching. You can catch every old episodes online but I couldn't wait and BEGGED my editor for this DVD set to enjoy/review at home all over again!

It has become my favorite running TV series now. I used to love my Thursdays after I discover this show. I would say it is as good as Sex & The City except this is a television series not HBO and the great thing is it is not a copy cat either. While SATC jump from one guy to the next on their sex life, LJ focus more on relationships and my heart ache watching some scenes which I haven't felt a long time watching a TV series.

I hope season 2 will have much more episodes. I recommend this to all my girlfriends. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs, and comes with the Special Features of:
