'Games of the XXX Olympiad: Highlights'
(Various / DVD / NR / 2012 / NBC)

Overview: A spectacular retrospective of the moments from the 2012 London Olympics, featuring a captivating, extensive look at the various competitions, gold medal finals and London’s Opening Ceremony.

DVD Verdict: As you all know by now, The Olympics in England was great for the Americans. Well, in truth, I enjoy any Olympics where America gets to beat up on most-every other country in co-ordinated outfits!

Now for the bad news. And as much as Englan'd coverage of the Opening Ceremony was incredible, so indepth, this version of NBC's coverage is/was terrible! People, you will be SO disappointed with this DVD if you think you'll be getting the full monty of the show! I know it says "highlights" on the front cover art, but they don't even show the best highlights!

I guess the question has to be: Are you interesting in 'Games of the XXX Olympiad: Highlights'? Showcasing athletes from around the world compete for the bronze, silver and gold medals. Well, if you say 'Yes' just be glad you saw a lot of the Olympics on TV this year, because this is a VERY brief so-called highlight. I mean, the whole opening and closing ceremony isn't included, nowhere close!

Anyway, regardless of that, it's a nice catch-up to what happened, I guess! The A/V quality is strong and it comes complete with a clean standard definition transfer. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
