'Maximum Conviction' [Blu-ray/DVD Combo]
(Steven Seagal, Steve Austin, Michael Pare, Bren Foster, et al / Blu ray+DVD / R / 2012 / Anchor Bay Entertainment)

Overview: When former black ops operative Tom Steele (Steven Seagal) and his partner Manning (Steve Austin) are assigned to decommission an old prison, they must oversee the arrival of two mysterious female prisoners. Before long, an elite force of mercenaries assault the prison in search of the new arrivals.

Blu ray+DVD Verdict: Trust me, you get exactly what you expect from this movie! Not only does the action keep up a staggeringly fast pace, but the two Steve's - Seagal and Austin - do all they can to outwit and bring to an end an invasion onto their property. Using anything to hand, amazingly they also seem to be bulletproof as whilst the bullets fly all around them neither gets shot, nicked or even worried by them!

Indeed, the only time one of them gets a beat down is when Austin is given a brutal seeing to by a female bad "guy"! As for Seagal, well, he never gets a scratch, doesn't even allow anyone he fights at close quarters to lay a finger on him! Dude, he's just that good!

As for the film, well, Seagal plays a former Black Ops operative named Tom Steele and Austin plays his long-time partner Manning. They are assigned to decommission an old prison, but before they clock off they must oversee the arrival of two mysterious female prisoners. Before long, an elite force of mercenaries assault the prison in search of the new arrivals.

It seems not one but both the women hold secrets and soon Steele realizes he's caught in the middle of something far bigger than he had imagined. Inclusive of some cheap CGI prison security monitors, some horrible dialogue between the two Steve's in the opening scenes, 'Maximum Conviction' does settle down quickly into what it does best - allowing the bullets and fists to fly! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs, and comes with the Special Features of:
