Overview: Following the success of the 'Adventure Time: Jake vs. Me-Mow' DVD release, Cartoon Network is releasing the fifth volume in the increasingly successful DVD collection, 'Adventure Time: Jake the Dad.'

DVD Verdict: Just so you know from the off, this wonderfully-packaged 'Adventure Time: Jake the Dad' DVD is being shipped along with a cool Jake hat. Sure the DVD, hat and special packaging will run you around $20+ retail value, but it's soooooo orth it! Indeed, along with the hat (and sometimes, yes, that should be enough!) this animated emmy-nominated series DVD set features 16 hilarious episodes, a beautiful character gallery and a special feature: Little Did They Know.

And, of course, let's tease you about the show. Well, if you didn't know what was expected as we begin you certainly do after the exclamation from BMO of "Puppies! Puppies! Puppies!” It's her reaction to the birth of Jake and Lady Rainicorn’s litter of pups and as we progress through the episode we get to meet, and know the five adorable puppies that have the pleasure of calling Jake their father: Charlie, T.V., Viola, Kim Kil Whan, and Jake Jr. ... who, mysteriously has a butt for a face!!

Not to give too much away here, but as we move through the episodes the pups have already grown considerably and are beginning to show off their powers! Now, these range from turning things different colors - like their own mother - to shapeshifting their bodies like daddy!

Oh, and one of my favorite scenes is when the sleep-deprived dad of five magical half-dog, half-rainicorn pups, takes them out for a walk, he falls asleep ... as his kids teleport away to play with mushrooms, swords, and frogs!! Have fun with this wonderful series, kids - and you younger adults too, of course! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Feature of:
