'Sex In The Wild: The Biology of Mating'
(2-DVD / NR / 2014 / PBS)

Overview: Presented by anatomist Joy Reidenberg and veterinarian Mark Evans, 'Sex in the Wild' is a four part series that explores the reproductive behaviors and biology of the animal kingdom.

DVD Verdict: OK, I guess I should start this review with a disclaimer: This is NOT a family documentary, unless you have already discussed and analyzed with your young ones about Adam and Eve from the biology side of the spectrum thoroughly and completely!

Right, got that sorted, so let's move on! The sex organs of some animals are more than twenty five percent of their body length. To survive in the wild, shorter pregnancy periods of four weeks are as essential as the shape and length of male anatomy in fertilizing the egg as well as the shape of the sperm in reaching their destination, especially in the hot deserts of Africa and Australia.

'Sex In The Wild: The Biology of Mating' is a very educational documentary since you get to witness biology in animals which is rarely ever documented in such settings for so many different type of creatures in so many different part of the planet earth. Birth could not be anymore astonishing on land or in water! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
